Law Schools With The Highest Bar Passage Rates

Bar passage rates are up for a majority of law grads.
Nearly 90% of class of 2015 law grads passed the bar exam within two years of gradation, according to new data by American Bar Association Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar.
Bar Passage Rates a Big Factor in School Selection
The National Jurist reports that first-time bar passage results, historically, have been only reported on a school-by-school basis. However, the ABA’s comprehensive report offers a comprehensive look into how schools can prepare students for bar success.
“This report is not a compliance report for ABA Standard 316, which sets the standard for bar passage,” Barry Currier, the section’s managing director, says. “That is a separate and distinct matter. But these reports provide important consumer information for students considering whether and where to attend law school and for others with an interest in legal education.”

Some important factors to consider. Traditionally, bar passage data was reported on a school-by-school basis. Now, the ABA requires law schools to file a separate report that details ultimate bar pass data, starting with class of 2015 graduates.
Additionally, states like Wisconsin don’t require bar exam passage for law grads to practice law, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Wisconsin’s “diploma privilege” system explains why schools, like University of Wisconsin and Marquette University, rank so highly.
