This Law School Scored The Highest Bar Exam Passage Rate Again

The University of Georgia School of Law has secured the highest bar exam passage rate for first-time takers in the state of Georgia for the sixth year in a row.

With a 93.7% passage rate for first timers on the July exam, the University of Georgia School of Law topped other law schools in the state such as Emory University School of Law, Georgia State University College of Law, and John Marshall Law School.

“The faculty, staff and I are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work,” School of Law Dean Peter B. “Bo” Rutledge says in a press release. “Our primary focus at the School of Law has been – and remains – to provide our students with first-rate legal training so they can become future leaders of state and society.”

HISTORIC LEADER

The University of Georgia School of Law has, for the past six years, had the highest bar exam passage rate for first-time takers in the state of Georgia, according to Georgia Bar Exam statistics.

In July 2018, the law school had a first-time passage rate of 88.1%. The year before, that rate hit 89.3%

Rutledge credits the school’s resources and programs as some of the main reasons why its grads have performed so strongly on the exam.

“I’d like to thank the law school’s Bar Passage Working Group – led by Bar Exam Success Programming Director Tony Waller – and our Bar Exam Success Team for their innovative work in this field,” Rutledge says. “Special thanks also go to the law school’s generous alumni and alumnae who invested in a bar preparation stipend program, run by Tony and the BEST team, to support those in need.”
