Schools With The Best LSAT Scores

Happy WomanLaw Schools With The Most Full-Time Applicants

Where are the hottest law schools at the moment? Scattered across the eastern seaboard. Despite total law school applications dropping by nearly 20,000 from 2010 to a little more than 53,000 in 2014, some law schools continue to be popular among applicants. And some are even gaining in application totals.
It should be no surprise the two most popular schools to apply to for admission in 2015 are geographically at the heart of lawmaking in the United States. Georgetown University’s Law Center and George Washington University’s School of Law both nhad more applicants in 2014 and 2015 than any other law school with 7,748 and 6,160 applicants, respectively. Two New York City law schools–Columbia Law and NYU’s law school–were third and fourth and separated by only two applicants at 5,716 and 5,714, respectively.
The first school outside of the Northeast to make the list is the University of California-Los Angeles Law School with 5,254 applicants, rounding out the top five. Washington University in St. Louis Law School continues to gain in popularity and was the only school not on the either coast to make the top 10 with 4,613 applicants. It was the first time the school made the top 10 list of highest applications. In fact, Washington University and George Washington were the only two schools on the top 10 list to actually have application increases.
Among all of the 196 schools the U.S. News ranks, the average applicant amount was 1,650. The decline among eight of the top 10 most popular schools once again reinforces it’s not just unpopular to apply to lower ranked schools. Each school on the top 10 applications list is a 2017 U.S. News top 25 law school.
