UNDERPERFORMERS: OREGON & VILLANOVA RANK HIGH

“Underperformers” are law schools that are held in higher esteem by lawyers and judges than their overall rank would indicate. Make no mistake: Legal professionals are not necessarily happy with these schools. Underperformers fall into two buckets. First, these schools’ assessment scores dropped along with their overall rank. This means that lawyers and judges are sensing the same issues reflected in the U.S. News data. Or, the underperformers’ rank increased, possibly buoyed by positive sentiments from the legal community surveyed. Here are the schools that are considered “Underperformers” in U.S. News’ metrics:

Avoid law school like the plague!!! That is, unless $200,000+ of non-dischargeable student loan debt, no job, and living in your parents’ basement is your idea of fun. Law school is a scam.

    No Fordham? Odd.

    • Jeff-Schmitt

Hi, T. Thanks for writing. Good question. I didn’t include Fordham as its overall rank (#36) was nearly identical to its survey rank (#37). Fordham received a 3.5 score from legal professionals, down from a 3.6 score it received in last year’s U.S. News survey.
